The Renaissance World Tour celebrates the glittering euphoria of Beyoncé’s seventh album through a maximalist, theatrical concert experience.
Touring across Europe and USA in 2023, it marks the third collaboration between Beyoncé and STUFISH following ‘OTRII’ and ‘Homecoming’, Coachella.
The expansive stage architecture evokes the feminine and futuristic disco feel of the Renaissance era, with a curved main stage that extends into a circular catwalk embracing the pulsing Club Renaissance at the centre of the stadium. The stage space expands into layered banquette seating, blurring the boundary between audience and performance.
A 15m high video façade provides a cinematic canvas that is filled throughout the show with mechanical, hyper chromatic animations, mixed with pre-shot films and live camera image. A circular aperture cuts into the centre of this façade, acting as a portal into the chrome filled world of Renaissance.
This portal has a sliding video disc to obscure and reveal the everchanging scenery within the proscenium. The disc pans across stage like an eclipse to open and close the aperture like a camera iris illustrating the passage of time or phases of the sun or moon.
The Guardian
"Dripping with sci-fi disco decadence, sex, body positivity and feminine Black pride, the near three-hour spectacular plays out in front, behind and, at times, inside a football-pitch-wide high-definition video screen designed to assault the senses at dizzying scale."
The concert celebrates disco and LGBTQ ballroom culture. The show evolves to reveal new props that frame the dancers and onstage musicians. These largescale sculptures are part of a show-wide choreography between performers and the crew who are celebrated as a character and presence throughout the show. All the props honour the chrome mirror aesthetic.

“Nothing on phone screens can compare to the immersive three-dimensions of design, music, fashion and storytelling Beyoncé has crafted. The Renaissance only occurs in her now globally traveling court — a cyborg palace of metallics and lavish textiles of sound that must be experienced in person. The show is a triumph of live performance”
