The Big-O is a unique concept created by ECA2. The 45m tall sculpture combines expressive architecture and multimedia show design. The sculpture is the icon of the ‘Big-O’ Expo site during the day. At night the ECA2 multimedia presentation transforms the sculpture into a unique show that embraces the Yeosu 2012 Expo themes. The entertainment takes the audience on a fantastic and unforgettable journey that celebrates the Ocean.
The Big-O structure is formed from a circular steel truss 35m diameter supported on concrete legs. The legs stand on the roof of a control and projection island located in a tidal lagoon opposite an audience promenade.
The top of the Big-O is 45m above mean sea level. The elliptical opening in the Big-O is 30m high and 25m wide. The opening is filled by a water curtain. The perimeter of the truss is lined with fire, fountain and lighting effects.
