The 2024 National Television Awards stage design concept is a striking representation of the art of storytelling in television, brought to life through a monochromatic abstract sculpture. Comprised of 51 suspended pieces, this sculpture captures a dynamic sense of narratives unfurling from our screens, offering a visual metaphor for the expansive and transformative nature of television storytelling.
The sculpture’s design allows for light textures to be projected onto it, creating an animated, flowing visual movement. When illuminated, the translucent materials give the sculpture an ephemeral and almost ethereal quality, enhancing its impact on both the audience in the vast O2 Arena in London and the viewers at home.
Wrapping around the performance area, this sculptural design provides a textured backdrop for close-up presentation moments and serves as a powerful visual statement in the expansive space of the arena. The overall effect is a celebration of storytelling and television, evoking a sense of joy and spectacle that enhances the show’s atmosphere.
