Worlds Most Spectacular Circus Show
STUFISH designed a modern circus theatre able to withstand the environmental seasonal demands of typhoons while retaining the iconic lightweight expression of the tent. The colourful concept is inspired by the form of a traditional circus tent and the fold of a stage curtain.
The theatre has been planned to provide a highly efficient ingress and egress, with visitors entering at ground level and exiting at the level 1 canopy bridge. This allows for a quick change over and increased daily viewing. The façade was extended and extruded to enclose protected stair cores resulting in the undulating façade and exaggerating the curvature of the theatre crown.
The auditorium seating has been designed in two rakes separated by a parade route. Above the parade route there is a track carrying scenic elements that allow for changes during key moments in the performance. The theatre façade pierces through the raised forecourt bridge down to the overed entry plaza. Scope of work: Façade Design, Internal Planning, Master Planning.
