STUFISH were delighted to be asked to collaborate for the third time with the British Fashion Council and producers Done & Dusted in creating the design for the 2019 Fashion Awards, a prestigious award ceremony celebrating creativity and innovation in global fashion at London’s Royal Albert Hall.
This year’s concept delivers an immersive fashion show experience with an unprecedented runway installation that envelops the entire interior of the Royal Albert Hall showcasing cutting edge designs from Central St Martin’s ‘White Show’ and Giorgio Armani who won the ‘Outstanding Achievement’ award.
The main stage has an integrated orchestra pit that places the live musicians from the London Contemporary Orchestra at the centre of the event. There is a smaller elliptical catwalk reflecting the geometry of the runway around the perimeter of the room. This brings the energy of the award ceremony further out into the auditorium.
There is a cascade of flown screens and mirrors starting at the back of the main stage and spreading over the entire auditorium. Mirrors and screens are also scattered along the red-carpet area continuing this concept outside the venue.
The combination of the screens and mirrors creates a collage effect in the room and gives a large variety of surfaces for this year’s Fashion Awards topical statements and imagery which focus on positive environmental messages.
The 150m long runway is complimented by a radial array of lighting strips that were animated to drive energy around the room during the fashion show and the awards ceremony.
