The Fashion Awards 2023
The design for the 2023 Fashion Awards took inspiration from the late Vivienne Westwood and her commitment to protest. The stage had an arrangement of screens that took on the role of ‘protest banners’ appearing in different sizes at different heights. This created a dynamic proscenium display at one end of the Royal Albert Hall for the different performances and award presentations.

The red carpet of the awards incorporated two multi-faceted red diamond step-and-repeat walls to allow for guests to be photographed from either entrance. These generated a new symmetrical look for the red carpet whilst allowing better guest flow. In front of the monument, we designed a folly as a focal point up the grand staircase.
Modelled on the concept of a ballet music box, there was a large portrait LED screen to match the banner approach of the room inside, which was flanked by multiple mirrors angled into the centre. This created a photo opportunity for guests who could see themselves reflected multiple times when positioned on the raised platform.
The screens alternated between high definition and blow through LED, allowing for lights to shine through the blow through to create an alternative luminous look. The design allowed for a variety of different looks which catered to the different performance approaches from Sam Smith, Mette and Valentino.
