Teatro del Silenzio, Lajatico, Tuscany, the home of maestro Andrea Bocelli welcomed people from all over the world, invited to Andrea’s home to experience his land and music.

This year the design of the scenography aimed to celebrate the unique location and activate it while remaining respectful and almost blend with the stunning landscape, while making a statement.
The lake became the epicentre of the design, where we created the main sculpture, the gnomon, which represents the sundial and passing of time. Turning – changing of set, transforming the space and going from one moment in Bocelli’s life and career to another.
The sculptural piece serves also many functions for the show – performer riser, connecting the land and water to the sky, metronome opening the show, and as the screen.
The metronome side connects to the milestones to express the rhythm of time and music. The graphic represents a soundwave, which was based on the sound wave of the iconic Nessun Dorma and emanates out onto the milestones, towards the landscape.
The stage itself this year wanted to become a natural continuation of the stone wall of the theatre and together embrace the lake from all sides. Over one hundred musicians are layered onto the higher levels of the stage, exposed and celebrated visually throughout the show, whereas the multiple levels allow for dancers, performers, guest stars and Andrea Bocelli himself to get closer to the audience and be seen from various angles.
