A Heartfelt Journey: Benson Boone’s Sculptural Stage Design
At the heart of the design was an abstracted main stage that embraced the band on multiple levels and welcomed a group of fans into its centre. Extending from it, a custom-printed acrylic catwalk stretched deep into the crowd, illuminated from beneath and responsive to Benson’s movement. At its far end, a second heart-shaped stage created moments of closeness for fans throughout the venue.
The stage acted as a playground for his electric performance that maximized interaction, connection and a shared experience with the crowd. Its architecture allowed Benson to move freely and engage with the audience from all sides. His entrance was marked by dramatic reveals, rising via a shaft of light and stepping through screens that split apart.
The staging also featured dynamic moments, including a chandelier lift that carried him above the crowd and a piano performance elevated 18 feet into the air on the B-stage.
The overall aesthetic combined industrial textures with soft, flowing forms and lighting. This contrast evoked both the feeling of being on the road and the emotional embrace of the heart, resulting in a sculptural environment that amplified interaction and shared experience.
